Project Update: Shadeland Station – The Building Lift
In August of 2019, Cornerstone acquired a portfolio of buildings totaling 300,000 rsf located in Shadeland Office Park in Indianapolis, Indiana. One of the buildings had settled roughly 6 inches over its lifespan, presenting construction and leasing challenges.
Over the past several months, Cornerstone has successfully leveled the building enabling it to become marketable again. In order to level out the building, we had to construct a new retaining wall to provide structural support due to the nearby retention pond. Step two involved significant foundation work and the final step was lifting the building to its original position. Upon completing the structural lift, the first floor East wing was converted to full-height glass. The interior white box of the space is nearly complete. Final grading and landscaping are up next following EIFS repairs surrounding the windows.
