New team member highlight: Ted Baker
Ted Baker is Cornerstone’s Vice President of Development. Across the board, Ted is responsible for delivering the entire Cornerstone platform to help enable healthcare providers to maximize use of capital while navigating real estate transactions in a complex environment.
Prior to joining Cornerstone, Ted held various roles at financial institutions like GE Capital Real Estate and PNC Bank, where his responsibilities included the oversight of a multi-billion dollar debt portfolio supporting healthcare related businesses. He actively engaged with large, integrated healthcare systems and some of the largest healthcare payors to drive custom solutions spanning credit, capital markets, cash management, revenue cycle and asset management.
Ted has always been intrigued by the unique complexities that the healthcare industry presents from a financial perspective, and is especially interested in helping healthcare institutions deliver more cost-efficient care. What drew him to Cornerstone was the ability to work with healthcare systems to help examine and develop future delivery models; because, in his words, “large hospital campuses are giving way to more thoughtful, branded, outpatient access points of care.”
One of Ted’s passions in business is developing long-term, trust-based relationships — building on the philosophy that success isn’t defined by a single transaction, but by the relationships that foster honest and open discussion, enabling long-term solutions.
Ted studied finance and real estate at Indiana University; he currently lives in Indianapolis with his wife and two children. Outside of work he likes to stay active, chiefly through playing golf or playing with his family. He is actively involved within the community through organizations such as the United Way, St Mary’s Child Center and the Starfish Initiative.
